Association of Optometrists
All our Optometrists are members of the AOP
Malcolm McPherson graduated from Aston University and joined the Practice in 1986. To celebrate his 30 Year Anniversary his colleagues gave him a few gifts! Here he is sporting a lovely full head of hair with his commemorative plaque which is now displayed outside his consulting room door. Natasha, one of our Optical Advisors also baked him a lovely cake. Our Facebook Page
Do your eyes feel gritty, burning or watering? Dry eyes are an increasingly common problem often made worse by constant use involving computers, tablets and smartphones. We can perform a detailed assessment of the tear film, eyelid gland function and corneal surface, allowing us to identify the cause of the symptoms. There are differing causes of dry eye, and we can recommend relevant treatment options. You can discuss whether a full assessment is indicated with your optometrist or book a dry eye assessment direct with reception.
Eye care is a high tech business. Gone are the days of cardboard letter charts and hand held lights to examine the eye. The modern optometric practice is equipped with high tech microscopes, computerised letter charts and even the ability to take a sectional scan of the eye and examine the layers of the retina.
Our optometrists are fully trained in both using and interpreting the technology to help make reasoned decisions with you about your vision and the health of your eyes.
