Stellest™ Spectacle Lenses
Why is myopia an issue?
Lots of us are short sighted – having to wear glasses or contact lenses can be inconvenient, but not a major problem.
What many people don't know is how myopia affects eye health. If you are myopic, you are at risk of developing other eye conditions, such as retinal detachment and glaucoma, and the risk is greater the more short sighted you are.
What can we do about it?
For myopic adults, this cannot be changed – visit your optician regularly and wear fabulous glasses!
Limiting the time children spend working on something within roughly 30cm of their eyes to 30-minute intervals, and spending plenty of time outdoors have been shown to have some impact.
For children, however, there is now an exciting alternative option to manage the condition. Stellest™ lenses are new and innovative spectacle lenses, which have been shown to slow the progression of myopia by an average of 60%.
The lenses look just like normal spectacle lenses, and children adapt to them easily. By choosing Stellest™, you are giving your child the best chance of good eye health when they are older.
Who are Stellest™ lenses suitable for?
All children who are short sighted, even if only very slightly. In particular, children who start to become short sighted at a younger age, and who have a parent(s) who are also short sighted.
